Historical London rope-art festival lineage spanning the London Festival of the Art of Japanese Bondage and later London Festival of Rope Art. Early Resistance Gallery editions in 2009 / 2010 helped introduce international kinbaku performance and teaching to the UK scene, with Esinem and BeShibari among early participants and Hajime Kinoko appearing in the 2010 edition. The 2015 LFRA edition at Resistance Gallery framed itself as a celebration of shibari, performance art, cultural exchange and international cooperative learning, with performers, teachers, exhibitions, workshops and masterclasses from many countries.
