Japanese kinbakushi and organizer of Salon Kitagawa / salonK2, distinct from Shuhei Kitagawa / 北川周平. Nawapedia identifies Kitagawa / 喜多川 as born in 1954, switching from cotton rope to asanawa in 1990 and organizing Kitagawa Salon in Tokyo from 2003 to 2009 before the group continued behind closed doors. The official salonK2 page says Salon Kitagawa started in 2003, Kitagawa partnered with kei in 2005 and salonK2 started in 2009; it presents the current Yokohama salon as a rope gathering and lesson space centered on semenawa / asanawa. Studio Kink and Prague Shibari Festival bios of Kasumi Hourai identify Salon Kitagawa as the source of her Kitagawa study, especially carabiner-less technique, locks, knots and bamboo suspension.
