NAWASHI · TEACHER · PERFORMER

Toronto-based rope educator and performer. Began rope in 2011 as a model and self-suspension practitioner, first tying in an American convention-influenced style. In 2013 she began exploring Kazami-ryu through Osaka Dan and later Kazami Ranki, then a 2015 EURIX trip shifted her away from Kazami maximalism toward inspiration from Pedro Cordas, Vlada Vedmovskaya, and the growing European Naka-ryu scene. Her mature work emphasizes minimalist harness construction, body mechanics, movement arts, sadism, performance, and model-first teaching. Co-owner of Birdhaus in Toronto, where she teaches and performs locally; international credits include Prague Shibari Festival, Bondage Expo Dallas, EURIX, Helsinki Shibari, Shibaricon, and workshops worldwide. Mentor to RopuNawa from ~2019.
